Everything You Need
to Know — Answered.

The most common questions our Tampa Bay patients ask before booking. Can't find what you need? Call or text us at (813) 360-4466.

📅

Booking & Scheduling

Do you come to my home or my workplace?
+

Yes — both. EZPHLEB comes to wherever is most convenient for you: your home, apartment, office, workplace, or care facility anywhere in Tampa Bay. That's the whole point — you don't move, we do.

📍

We serve Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. Not sure if we cover your area? Call us at (813) 360-4466 — we'll confirm in 30 seconds.

Do I need a doctor's order to book?
+

Yes — for standard blood draws, we require a valid physician's order from a ordering clinician. You can upload it securely during the online booking process at ezphleb.com/appointment.

Don't have your order yet? Contact your doctor's office first and ask them to send it to you by email or fax. Once you have it, booking takes less than 2 minutes.

💡

Not sure how to upload your order? Call us at (813) 360-4466 — we'll walk you through it step by step.

How quickly can I get an appointment?
+

We typically offer same-week and next-day appointments depending on availability. Book online at ezphleb.com/appointment for the fastest scheduling, or call (813) 360-4466 and we'll find you the earliest available slot.

What are your hours? Do you work weekends?
+

Yes — we work weekends and evenings, because your life doesn't pause for lab work.

Monday – Friday: 1:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Sunday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

While other mobile services stop at 3 PM on weekdays, EZPHLEB keeps going — evenings included.

Can I book for someone else — a parent, spouse, or patient?
+

Yes. Many of our bookings are made by family members or caregivers on behalf of the patient. When booking online, simply enter the patient's information — name, date of birth, and address — not yours. The appointment is for the person being drawn, not the person booking.

👨‍👩‍👧

Caregivers, adult children booking for elderly parents, and home health coordinators book with us regularly. We make it easy.

What if I live in a gated community or apartment building?
+

No problem. Just include your gate code, building number, or access instructions in the booking notes when you schedule. We arrive at your door — not the lobby or parking lot. If there are any access details we need, let us know in advance and we'll make sure the visit goes smoothly.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
+

Life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible — ideally at least 24 hours before your appointment — so we can offer that slot to another patient.

Call or text us at (813) 360-4466 or email care@ezphleb.com to make any changes to your booking.

Our Services

Do you collect specialty kits? (genetic, hormonal, wellness)
+

Yes — specialty kit collection is one of our core services and a big reason patients choose EZPHLEB. We handle genetic, hormonal, functional medicine, nutritional, and research kits with careful collection and handling procedures. For a focused overview, visit our Specialty Kit Collection guide.

Important: You must already have your kit before we arrive. We do not supply the kits — those come from your doctor or the lab company. Once you have it, we take care of everything else: collection, packaging, and delivery.

With 15+ years of clinical experience, we know the exact protocols for each kit type. Handled according to kit instructions.

Which labs do you deliver specimens to?
+

We deliver to whichever laboratory your physician has designated — including LabCorp, Quest Diagnostics, and local Tampa Bay labs. For specialty kits, we also handle overnight shipments to the kit company's designated lab.

Not sure which lab your order is going to? Check your physician's order — it will specify. If you're still unsure, call us and we'll help you figure it out.

Can you draw blood from seniors or children?
+

Absolutely — and this is where mobile phlebotomy makes the biggest difference. Elderly patients don't have to deal with transportation or crowded waiting rooms. Children are often much calmer and more cooperative in the familiar comfort of their own home.

We specialize in gentle, anxiety-reducing techniques for patients of all ages. Our priority is your comfort and a calm, professional draw experience.

What if I have difficult veins?
+

Let us know when you book. With 15+ years of clinical experience, we've worked with all kinds of patients — small veins, rolling veins, dehydrated patients, anxious patients. We come prepared with the right techniques and tools.

Before your appointment, make sure you're well hydrated — drinking plenty of water in the hours before your draw makes veins significantly easier to locate.

💧

Hydration tip: Drink at least 16–32 oz of water in the 1–2 hours before your appointment for easier vein access.

Can you do blood draws for assisted living facilities or nursing homes?
+

Yes — facility service is one of our specialties. We partner with assisted living facilities, memory care communities, independent living complexes, and skilled nursing facilities across Tampa Bay to provide recurring mobile phlebotomy for their residents.

We coordinate directly with your facility's nursing staff, handle all lab requisitions, specimen packaging, and chain of custody documentation, and deliver specimens to your designated laboratory. No need to transport residents off-site.

🏥

Interested in a facility partnership? Email care@ezphleb.com or visit our Partners page to learn more.

How long does a home blood draw appointment take?
+

Most appointments are completed in 15–25 minutes from arrival to departure. This includes setup, the draw itself, specimen labeling, and cleanup. For extended draws of 20+ tubes or specialty kits with centrifugation requirements, it may take slightly longer.

The actual blood draw itself typically takes 3–7 minutes. We're efficient — your time matters to us.

Do I need to fast before my blood draw?
+

It depends on what your doctor ordered. Some tests — like cholesterol panels, glucose tests, and certain metabolic panels — require fasting for 8–12 hours before the draw. Others don't.

Always follow your physician's specific instructions for your test. If you're unsure whether you need to fast, call your doctor's office before your appointment. When in doubt — don't eat.

Pricing & Insurance

Do you accept health insurance for the mobile service?
+

EZPHLEB charges a flat service fee for the mobile visit — this is separate from the laboratory testing fees. The mobile service fee is typically not covered by health insurance.

However, the laboratory testing fees (billed separately by LabCorp, Quest, or your designated lab) are often covered by your insurance just like a regular lab visit. You may want to contact your insurance company to confirm your lab coverage.

💡

Think of it this way: you pay EZPHLEB for the convenience of not going to the lab. The lab bills your insurance for the actual tests — just like always.

How much does a mobile blood draw cost?
+

EZPHLEB charges a flat service fee per visit — the price covers your appointment, the blood draw, and specimen delivery to your designated laboratory. The fee is the same regardless of how many tubes are collected.

For current pricing and to confirm availability in your area, call us at (813) 360-4466 or email care@ezphleb.com. We explain costs before you commit to anything.

Is mobile phlebotomy worth the cost compared to going to a lab?
+

That depends on what your time and comfort are worth to you. Consider what a traditional lab visit actually costs: driving time, gas, parking, waiting room time (typically 30–60 minutes at LabCorp or Quest), and the disruption to your day. For many patients — especially seniors, parents with young children, or anyone with a demanding schedule — that's easily 2–3 hours of your day gone.

EZPHLEB's service fee covers a certified phlebotomist coming to your front door at the time you chose, completing your draw in under 20 minutes, and delivering your specimen directly to the lab. For most patients, that trade-off is straightforward.

⚖️

Routine draw starts at $99. That's less than the cost of an Uber round trip, and you don't have to leave your couch.

How do I pay?
+

We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is processed securely at the time of booking or at the time of service. If you have questions about payment options, contact us before your appointment.

Results & Safety

How do I get my lab results?
+

Your designated laboratory sends results through its normal process to your ordering physician. EZPHLEB does not have access to your test results.

Most labs also give patients online access to their own results. LabCorp results are available through the LabCorp Patient portal. Quest results are available through MyQuest. Check with your lab for access details.

⏱️

Routine blood panels typically return results within 24–72 hours. Specialty or genetic tests may take longer depending on the lab.

Is it safe to have someone come to my home for a blood draw?
+

Absolutely. Every EZPHLEB visit follows the same strict clinical protocols used in hospital and lab settings. Our phlebotomist arrives with all necessary sterile supplies, uses proper PPE, and disposes of all sharps safely and legally.

We use a HIPAA-conscious workflow, meaning your health information and privacy are handled through privacy-minded processes at every stage of the visit — from booking to specimen delivery.

🛡️

Our lead phlebotomist is RPT-certified — Reg. #2025114151261 — and follows professional mobile specimen collection procedures.

What if I feel faint or unwell during the draw?
+

Tell us before or during the draw if you've ever felt faint from a blood draw before. We'll have you reclined or lying down, which significantly reduces the chance of feeling lightheaded.

If you start to feel unwell during the draw, we stop immediately and monitor you until you feel better. We focus on your comfort and safety throughout the visit.

What credentials does your phlebotomist have?
+

Our lead phlebotomist holds an RPT (Registered Phlebotomy Technician) credential — a recognized RPT phlebotomy credential, issued by the National Phlebotomy Association. This goes beyond a basic CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) designation.

In addition to the RPT credential, our phlebotomist has 15+ years of clinical experience in high-volume hospital and laboratory settings, and has performed over 10,000 blood draws. EZPHLEB follows professional mobile specimen collection and handling procedures.

🎓

Is my personal and health information kept private?
+

Yes — completely. EZPHLEB is HIPAA-conscious. Your health information is handled with the privacy-minded handling practices at every stage: booking, collection, specimen transport, and lab delivery.

Patient information is shared only with the parties directly involved in the collection, lab processing, and ordering-provider workflow.

If your lab order, kit, or timing is unusual, ask us before booking.

We can confirm whether your order is ready, whether fasting is required, and whether your address is inside our Tampa Bay service area.
